If you’ve found this because you were searching for Wilde Mode, you’re in the right place.
Wilde Mode has now closed. But the Wilde Mode Clothes you know and love are still available.
The ideas, the creativity, and the purpose behind it did not disappear with it.
After years of building Wilde Mode from scratch in Dundee, sewing late into the night, growing a team, winning awards, fighting battles no one sees, and creating underwear that helped people feel safe in their own skin, that chapter eventually came to an end.
Not because the values disappeared.
Not because the care stopped.
Not because the mission mattered any less.
But because sometimes businesses reach a point where they simply can’t continue in the form they once were.
When Wilde Mode closed, it was the end of that company.
But it wasn’t the end of the work, the creativity, or the reason it started in the first place.
And that’s where Designed by Debz begins.
Why Wilde Mode Had to Close
Wilde Mode started in 2018 from a deeply personal place. It was about survival, about sensory comfort, about creating clothing that didn’t hurt – physically or emotionally. It grew into something bigger than I ever imagined. A community. A movement. A safe space.
Running an independent clothing brand is incredibly demanding. Behind the scenes there are pressures most people never see – financial challenges, operational strain, and the sheer weight of carrying a growing business.
Eventually, Wilde Mode reached a point where it could no longer continue as a company.
Closing that chapter was not an easy decision. It represented years of work, passion, and community.
But sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is accept that one chapter has ended, and allow space for something new to begin.
Stepping Forward as Myself
For a long time I hid behind a brand name.
Wilde Mode was powerful, but it was also something I constantly had to defend, explain, and carry.
When that chapter closed, I realised something important.
I didn’t want to stop creating.
I just wanted to create differently.
So I made the decision to step forward as myself.
Not hide behind a brand name.
Not dilute my voice.
Not shrink to make others comfortable.
Designed by Debz is exactly what it says it is.
It’s personal.
It’s intentional.
And it comes directly from me.
Empowering You From the Bottom Up™
Wilde Mode was built on the idea of “empowering from the bottom up™” – and that belief hasn’t changed.
Underwear is the first thing you put on.
It sits against your skin.
It holds you.
If what’s underneath feels wrong, uncomfortable, restrictive, or not made for you, it impacts everything.
From day one, I believed confidence starts at the base layer. That comfort is powerful. That clothing can either support you or fight you.
That belief hasn’t gone anywhere.
What’s changed is the energy behind it.
What Designed by Debz Means Now
Designed by Debz isn’t about trying to please everyone.
It’s about quiet confidence.
Intentional design.
Art-led collections.
Small-batch pieces that feel considered, not churned out.
It’s about rediscovering the creative spark and building something that feels honest and sustainable.
The work is still created in Dundee.
Still sensory-aware.
Still ethically made.
But now it’s more focused. More deliberate. More personal.
I’m no longer trying to hold together something that couldn’t continue.
I’m building something because I choose to.
