It’s not just a label. It’s a fundamentally different way of making and selling clothing, with real consequences for quality, sustainability, and the relationship between maker and customer.
What Made to Order Actually Means
Made to order means exactly what it says: we don’t make your garment until you’ve ordered it. There is no warehouse full of stock waiting to be sold. There are no unsold bras sitting in boxes. Every piece we make exists because a specific person chose it.
This is the opposite of how most fashion brands work. The standard model is to produce large quantities of each style in advance — based on predicted demand — and then sell as much as possible. Whatever doesn’t sell gets discounted, donated, or destroyed. In the fast fashion world, “destroyed” often means incinerated or sent to landfill.
We don’t do that. We can’t do that — because we don’t make anything until you ask for it.
Why It’s Better for the Environment
Overproduction is one of the fashion industry’s biggest problems. Brands routinely produce far more than they can sell, because the economics of mass production reward volume. The result is millions of tonnes of clothing wasted every year — clothing that required water, energy, chemicals, and human labour to produce, and that ends up in landfill or incinerators.
Made to order eliminates this entirely. We produce nothing speculatively. We send nothing to landfill. Every piece of fabric we cut becomes a garment that someone is going to wear.
We also choose our materials carefully. Our underwear and clothing is made from organic cotton and recycled fabrics — materials that are kinder to the environment than conventional synthetics, and kinder to your skin too.
Why It’s Better for Quality
When you’re making things in bulk to hit a price point, quality is the first thing to suffer. Cheaper materials, faster construction, less attention to detail — all of these are consequences of mass production.
When you’re making one garment at a time, for a specific person, the dynamic is completely different. Every piece gets the same care and attention. There’s no pressure to cut corners to hit a production quota. The person making it knows it’s going to a real customer, not a warehouse shelf.

What It Means for You as a Customer
Made to order does mean your garment takes a little longer to arrive than something dispatched from a warehouse. We’re not Amazon. We’re a small independent maker, and your piece is being made specifically for you after you order it.
What you get in return is a garment that’s been made with real attention, from quality materials, by someone who cares about what they’re making. Not something that’s been sitting in a box for six months waiting to be sold.

Made to Order and Inclusive Sizing
Made to order also makes inclusive sizing genuinely possible in a way that mass production doesn’t. When you’re producing in bulk, stocking every size is expensive and risky — so brands limit their ranges to the sizes that sell in the highest volume, which means larger sizes and less common proportions get left out.
Because we make to order, we can offer sizes from 3XS to 10XL and A to O cup without the risk of unsold stock. Every size is equally available, because nothing is made until it’s ordered.
